SCHOLARSHIP WRITER!

You're a college student, and the university of somebody else's dreams accepted YOU-- only one problem! The tuition per semester is pretty outrageous. That's the price of being able to get a job that doesn't suck, I guess...? Time to apply for some scholarships!

HOT AND BOTHERED FEATURES:
  • Inspired by real-life events!
  • Satirical responses that unleash your inner cynic! Or probably realist!
  • A bajillion combinations to explore with multiple endings!
  • Copy your essay to your clipboard to share with your friends and benefactors! NOTE: Only available if you download the game, because my WebGL headache is killing me.
  • You will probably not win your scholarship! It's like Dark Souls but obviously this game has way more production value!

NOTES: this is my third finished game from scratch. I'm tired of writing scholarship essays that go nowhere and felt inspired to make this game for this jam. Credits to free assets from the Unity Store are in-game. :)

If you play the downloadable version, I’d LOVE to read your essay!! Feel free to paste it in the comments below!

A striking opener with a gripping hook. Middle sentence with a smooth transition! Please give me money, and you can, too!

You may be wondering how we got here. And that sucks, doesn't it? It's okay to admit that. Smooth transition to the conclusion!

That's all, but I haven't hit my word count yet. I wish it weren't so. Please help - this scholarship will pay for 1/27th of my tuition!

Love all the individual text boxes. The format of the game really brings across the whole sisyphean task. Great work, and congrats on a poignant and finished 3rd game! :D

omg thank you so much for playing and for your thoughtful words!!! You even downloaded it and copy/pasted your essay! I’m so touched. I would give that scholarship essay the prize.

(I did actually play in the browser but just typed it down manually but shhhh) :D
Now I don't know if that was deliberate, but the "and you can, too" line really reminded me of that one video by Brian David Gilbert which also ties into some capitalist ideas but. horror. Highly recommend it! :D

wow thank you for going to that effort! it was not deliberate but i just finished watching that video and it was great. kind of reminded me of Welcome to Nightvale at times... it was really good thank you for sharing!!! :)
